I guess that, like many writers, I was just trying to find my own voice. I already felt that I was late in the game and that I had been wasting my time doing other things while I should have been focusing more seriously in my writing. I had been writing since I was a child, but I realized that I had never really written anything that I was completely happy with. I had written a couple of unpublished novels and a number of short stories before, published some pieces in magazines and newspapers, etc. When I wrote The Prince of Mist I was in my mid twenties. How did you come to write The Prince of Mist as your debut novel, which was first published in Spanish in 1993?
